Halloween

Why are there no Halloween songs for Primary?!?!?

Well, here's one for ya.

It comes from the Children's Friend (we couldn't find the year/mo.-sorry).  Words and Music by Janice O. Betts.

  1. This song might be fun to teach in the home but I don't think it is appropriate for Sunday Primary. As primary music leaders, we have the great opportunity to teach the children the gospel of Jesus Christ and help them feel the influence of the Holy Ghost. We don't need to compete with the world. What we have is even better. :-)

  2. Thank you for your comment. Every music chorister may feel different about "holiday songs". This song comes from the Children's Friend-a successor to the Friend. And as the Primary handbook says, "Hymns from the hymnbook and songs from the Friend and Liahona are also appropriate. Occasionally children may sing patriotic or holiday songs that are suitable for Sunday and for the children’s ages. The use of any other music in Primary must be approved by the bishopric." This song is completely appropriate for the children to sing. But every music chorister knows their own Primary best. And if you have any questions I would ask your own President or Bishopric! Thanks!

  3. What a fun song! I've heard other Primaries sing this before but, didn't know where it came from. Thank you so much! The kids will love this!
