"NOT" Witches Brew

How's the saying go?.. Boil, Boil. Toil and Trouble.  Fire burns and cauldrons Bubble"???

Can you image a witch stirring her pot of brew?????  I'm sure there is some wrath, anger and bitterness when she stirs!!!!

In Ephesians 4:31-32 it reads:

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and aanger, and clamour, and bevil cspeaking, be put away from you, with all dmalice

32 And be ye akind one to another, tenderhearted, bforgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Sounds like we have some missionary work to do with these witches!!!!

For today's October post, we thought we'd use a witches cauldron for Singing Time.

Add some good ingredients to the stew (kindness, tenderness, forgiveness, etc)!  Have some slips of paper on the table with the Christlike qualities and a coordinating song.  Call up a child to pick a slip and put it in the cauldron.  (Having a fog machine running would be AWESOME to use for this Singing Time).

Here are some examples of songs and qualities:  (Talk about each one as they pick, ask how they are show this Christlike attribute/quality)

KINDNESS:  Kindness Begins with me
FORGIVENESS: Help Me, Dear Father
PATIENCE:  I'll Walk with You
CHARITY:  I'm Trying to be like Jesus
OBEDIENCE: Keep the Commandments
(and many more options!)
Closing Song:  I'm Trying to be Like Jesus

In the end, stir it up and remind the children to NOT be like a witch (anger and wrath, etc) and be like CHRIST!!!!!

Send them home with this "NOT" Witches Brew to make with their family after church for FHE!!!
